Early detection is one of the best defenses against breast cancer. General recommendations for breast cancer screenings are a yearly mammogram for females over the age of 40 at average risk for breast cancer. Women with a personal or family history of breast cancer and people with a BRCA or genetic mutation prone to breast cancer should consult with their medical provider about earlier screenings.
Depending on the insurance plan requirements, you may need to have an order from your provider for mammogram screening. If you are unable to have your screening covered by insurance without a provider order, please contact the clinic to set this up. Our providers would be happy to add this order on at any type of appointment as well.
If you do not have insurance, or if your insurance does not cover screening mammogram, you may qualify for Arkansas’ BreastCare program. Link for eligibility provided below: https://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programs-services/topics/breastcare-eligibility-and-services
